Keloid Specialist

FAQs

keloid questions
Patient care starts with a thorough consultation. During this initial meeting, Dr. Niteen Dhepe examines your keloids, reviews the history of your disorder, your prior treatments, and the results of these treatments. He also takes time to answer all of your questions. Afterward, he provides you with his recommended treatment plan. The duration of the consultation is usually 20 minutes. However, in complex cases, it may last much longer.
The initial consultation fee is Rs.1000. Treatment charges are separate and vary from patient to patient.
Once you are an established patient, each follow-up visit is Rs.500. This fee does not cover the cost of treatment. Dr. Niteen Dhepe will provide you with treatment fees in advance of your visit so you are aware of the total cost for each appointment.
The number and type of treatments vary from patient to patient. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict the total cost. Size, shape, location and prior procedures are all factors that affect the complexity of treatment. Additionally, each keloid responds to treatment differently. In general, the smaller the keloid, the lower the cost; however, to achieve the best possible outcome, most keloids require several rounds of treatment. The fees for medications, anesthesia, etc., are separate from the fee for laser treatments. Dr. Niteen Dhepe will provide you with the procedural costs in advance of each visit. We can also provide you with an estimate of your treatment cost if you have one or few keloids.
Most keloids require several treatments. Because the keloids need time to heal in between procedures, the treatment period can span between twelve months to twenty four months or more. Dr. Niteen Dhepe will provide you with an estimated time for the course of treatment that will be required for your type of keloid.
We do not participate with any insurance plans. However, we will gladly provide you with a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Unlike many practices where patients are treated by non-physicians, Dr. Niteen Dhepe personally conducts all of the consultations and provides all of the treatments for his patients. He is passionate about providing hands-on care for each individual and following the progress of each procedure. He takes pride in providing his patients with the best possible care for their keloid treatment.

If time permits, Dr. Niteen Dhepe will provide treatment at the end of your consultation. In particular, he takes into consideration patients who must travel long distances and tries to minimize the number of trips required for treatment.
